Relaxation Tips For Stress

Start by taking a deep breath in, now hold it for 3 seconds and release. Do you feel more relaxed? Breathing exercises are a great way to feel instantly relaxed.

The definition of relaxation is “The state of being free from tension and anxiety.”

There are several ways to relax. There may be better ways for you than there are for me. It’s all about listening to your body and what it’s telling you. Like for me, yoga is stressful. My body is not flexible and getting in stretching positions makes my anxiety shoot up. However, for others, this is an amazing release for them.

Relaxing your mind:

A warm bath after a stressful day is an amazing way to unwind. Throw in some bath bubbles, relaxing music and your favorite treat you are sure to feel relaxed.

Mindful meditation is a great tool as well. By focusing on what is happening right now if your life without the stress of trying to solve everything. Being in the moment such as, do you hear outside noises? Pay attention to your breathing. Are you breathing fast, or slow?

Journal. Write down how you are really feeling. No filter, no trying to be perfect. The real, raw you. I instantly feel relaxed after

Relaxing the body:

Yoga, specifically hot yoga. Hot yoga is a nice step up if you already like yoga. You don’t have to go to a class, you can get books or videos and do it in the comfort of your home.

Go on a walk outside. I love going for walks with my dog. It gets me out and my body moving. Especially on nice, sunny days.

If you’re anything like me, this one won’t be hard to convince you. Get a massage! Or have someone give you a back rub. Massages are my instant way of relaxation.

Last but not least, drink lots of water! Water helps in so many ways, staying hydrated is a good way to keep your mind and body in tip-top shape.
