The kids love to go to this cute little pumpkin patch because they get to push a wheelbarrow around and there are so many options. I can see the joy in their eyes as they walk around assessing each option.
Is this one tall enough? Round enough? Big enough, or small enough? They love the variety and try to see who can pick up the biggest and best pumpkin in the patch.
I love to watch them run around. Touching all the pumpkins to find the perfect ones(s) for them. It makes for a perfect fall time activity. Then, going home and being able to carve them into a fun pattern. It’s always so fun to watch them touch the goop inside and see the reaction. I know that’s my least favorite part.
Finishing up carving we place a small candle inside and place the pumpkin on our front porch. The kids love choosing where to place their new prize allowing guests to see when they come over.
Then you can create a list of fun fall time activities to do. We like the pumpkin walk, hot chocolate, corn mazes, apple picking, canyon fires, and cozy movie nights watching hocus pocus, the great pumpkin Charlie Brown, Casper, and Halloween Town.
Spending quality time with my little family makes the holidays such a fun experience. Creating new memories and traditions makes it fun for the next year to do it all over again.
What are some fall traditions you and your family have? Do you follow the traditions of your family growing up, or create your own?
