Living With Purpose

If your purpose is not first fulfilling you it is not a purpose. It is a hobby. And hobbies can come and go. A purpose stays with you, it chooses you and constantly pulls you towards it. Even when you want so badly to be done with it.

You were not born to be idle. You have a purpose! A powerful purpose that will change you, your family, and other’s life. But notice how I said your life first.

I remember last year I was really struggling. It was nearing the anniversary date of my grandma’s passing and I felt stuck, I felt like I needed to hibernate and nothing was dragging me out of my funk. I was struggling to find clients in my business and was ready to throw the towel in.

In fact, I had three people message me at separate times stating how much they loved what I do and never wanted me to quit. Coincidence? I think not. They could feel me shifting in the direction of quitting. It was just feeling too hard.

So, I quit. I didn’t talk to anyone for a full weekend about it and I was just done. In that weekend hiatus, I was so excited to finally not feel stuck. I looked out at the beautiful mountains in Logan, Utah and felt sure of my decision to quit. I was WRONG I felt worse than stuck. I felt miserable. I felt like my soul had shut down. 12 hours in to my hiatus and I knew what my answer was. And it sure wasn’t in quitting.

That’s what the difference between a hobby and a purpose is. Your purpose is what you were placed on earth to do. Maybe it’s to be a multi million dollar business, maybe it’s to rescue children from abuse situations, maybe it’s to be a parent, maybe it’s to be a leader. Whatever is your purpose you’ll feel it. It’s often found in that quiet space of happiness. Your entire being feels this calm, joy. Like you are coming home.

I found mine when I paused to feel. And you can too.

What are you doing to listen and do? Your purpose develops the more you listen to what you feel.

What does your heart continually want to say yes to? Your purpose is felt first.

You were not born to be idle. What are you going to do today to build a purpose for yourself?

With love,

Talesha
