I gave up soda and this is what happened.
I really wanted to try something out before I recommend you all do it as well. And let’s be real about something. I used to HATE pop. I never ordered it and if I did it was sprite or some form of non carbonated drink. That was all until I met my husband.
I was so proud of myself for not liking pop. For making the healthy choice and drinking water. However, when I met my husband and he had a major coke addiction I slowly lost my pop battle. Eventually I liked the taste of coke and even began craving it.
This was all very weird for me, because I never thought I would. Pretty soon every night for dinner I would have one coke and multiple during dinner on the weekends. I knew this wasn’t healthy and saw this pop issue becoming worse.
One day I decided to change my eating habits. Coke was the first thing to go. Monday-Friday I had NO coke. Saturday and Sunday I could only have one. Even when my husband had it with dinner, I chose water. And it wasn’t as bad as you’d think.
First I noticed craving water again. This was huge for me because I never crave water. The more of it I drank, the more I chose to drink it. The easier the choice became.
Then I noticed not feeling as bloated after. We all know the feeling after drinking pop. Drinking water didn’t make me feel that way. In fact, it made me feel even better.
After the bloating going away I noticed not feeling as sluggish. Moving around and being active was easier for me. This helped me get more done around the house without feeling tired.
But my favorite effect of cutting pop out was the money saved. It’s crazy how expensive it is. Boom, I just saved $3 for this meal not buying a coke. And another $15 for not buying a pack of 3. Slowly but surely it adds up and you don’t even realize.
But there are other benefits as well to cutting pop out.
Lower diabetes risk
Clean teeth with less hassle
Less calorie intake (potential weight loss)
Better sleep
More energy
Decreased anxiety
With so many health benefits it’s no wonder people are turning away from pop. Your body will thank you later and feel more energized. At first you’ll still have the craving and your body will show that craving in any way it can.
For me I had headaches and felt tired without it. But after pushing through about 2 weeks the cravings and negative side effects eased up. I can tell you now that it’s worth it. Your body will thank you later in so many ways.
But I’m curious to know… Do you drink pop like I used to? Do you feel tired during your day? When you do drink pop how does your body feel after? Bloated?
Try it for one month, just one and you’ll understand exactly what I mean. Once you go off pop, you realize how gross it actually is.
I hope you have an amazing day with the people you love most. It’s a crazy world we’re living in right now. I pray it passes soon for all of us. So we can go back to normal life.
All my love,
Talesha
