How My Lifestyle Changed in 2020

Throughout 2020 I’ve seen a lot of personal growth. Growth that I knew I needed, but never really knew how to. I guess with Covid happening and everything getting shut down I was able to really learn myself. Flaws and all.

When Covid hit I lost a lot of hours at my job. Suddenly I was only working part time and that sent me into a depressive state. Whenever I work less then full time my head gets to me. I start feeling tired all the time and things around the house start falling short.

This year I noticed this as the cause to my random depression. The less I work, the more likely I am to feel depressed. And when that starts happening we all know how hard it is to pull ourselves out of it.

I, thankfully was able to pretty much immediately after noticing this, find another part time job. I again, pulled myself out of my bad habit and proved that when hard things happen, I evolve for the better.

The second thing I noticed and changed in my lifestyle was my fitness. This year I’ve really put my health as a priority. As hard as it is still for me, I love seeing the positive change both mentally and physically that happens.

I decided in July to invest in a personal trainer and have been so happy with myself for not giving up. I did fall off of workouts for a month, but knew I needed to keep going, so got right back up. That’s the key to success, falling and then getting back up again.

The third thing I changed in my lifestyle was my home and how I treat it. I have treated a home badly, but this year I’ve really focused on keeping my space extra put together.

It always eases my mind and helps my stress when the area I live is clean and tidy. I love coming home to the place I love most and feeling so peaceful instead of looking around at all the junk I have to clean.

The fourth and final lifestyle change I’ve had in 2020 so far is, pushing myself. I have really pushed myself in my personal life and in my business. I saw the success of getting out of my depression by pushing myself.

I’ve pushed myself in my thinking. Opening up and accepting others versions of truth that are not mine. Pushing myself to keep going while working out. Knowing the end result is well worth the pain in the moment. Pushing myself to eat better things for my body. To fuel it instead of fill it with whatever I think sounds good, but will hurt it in the end.

This is something I’ve struggled with. I tend to just accept where I am and not do a lot to change it. But by thinking deeper and knowing I can really do anything I desire by just pushing a little harder. It’s been so beneficial and I’ve noticed huge changed in my overall happiness.

This has been a crazy year with lots of personal growth for all of us, I’m sure. What changes have you noticed in your life to be beneficial this year? Were they changes that came natural, or did you have to fight to get there?

I’m so amazed at all of you. Your talents. Your strength. Your devotion. Your love. And your willingness to serve those around you.

All my love for you,

Talesha
