Social media and Instagram specifically have been taking over a lot of our social interaction. Not only can instagram be an uplifting place, but also a productive app.
How, you ask? Well, the answer is more simple than you think. Follow accounts that are positive and push you to be a better human. So often I see people complaining about social media and how it negatively effects them. Who you follow will make an impact on you.
If you’re following people who bring you down, who post depressing content, you will never get ahead. When I started noticing that those I followed made me the opposite of happy, I quickly got to deleting.
After removing negative accounts and people I didn’t feel were genuine, Instagram became a place of inspiration and joy.
Here are my top favorite Instagram accounts I follow.
@livinglyfree I can’t tell you how much I love following accounts that post uplifting quotes. Anytime I see one that connects with me, I save it and look at them later.
@motiversity This account posts inspiring speeches. It’s one thing to read an inspiring quote, but hearing and seeing the person giving it is all the better. You can feel the emotion and see how they really believe in what they’re talking about. It’s powerful and really starts the day off right.
@strong&sxy I love fitness and believe in giving your body the exercise it needs to stay strong and healthy. She (Lisa) goes over exercises to really push yourself. They aren’t easy, but after I promise you’ll feel proud of yourself!
@globalpositivenews I feel some type of way about news channels recently. With so much of only negative being shown it’s hard to feel like any good is actually going on.
This account shows all the inspiring, happy, amazing things happening all around us. Things that should be brought to attention, but seem to get pushed down instead.
@siennameek I love how real and authentic she is. Instead of hiding behind social media with her own insecurities, she brings them to light. Helping others be inspired and know they aren’t alone.
@so.picture.this I love photography and how creative she is. She’s not afraid to be bold and do her own style of photography and I love it! Her page is the perfect moody, creamy, and dark edits you never knew you needed.
@magnolia Giving me all the home making goodness I need. I’m inspired by beautiful, simple spaces that flow. Plus, you can buy everything shown! Target can have all my money and so can magnolia.
@rvfixerupper I bet you never knew an RV or fifth wheel could ever be so cute! How her and her husband make such beautiful spaces with such little space has always amazed me.
@the.gemstudio Have you ever wanted to be crafty and make your own gorgeous jewelry? Yep. Same. Now all my dreams can come true! They are located in Salt Lake making it the perfect girls date! Knowing I can get my own creative juices flowing while making a ring that’s to die for… sold!
@slcmoms helps give ideas for fun kids activities that are local! When I’m feeling stuck and out of ideas, they always come through with such fun local options! While also informing on when local deals will be. Free day at the zoo, count me in!
@kelsrfloyd Again another inspiring home account. If you love boho, trendy, and fashion, she is your girl! I love her bedroom and how cozy, yet simple it is. I’m a sucker for neutrals.
What accounts do you follow that keep your spirits lifted? There is so much goodness in the world I can’t believe more people don’t interact with positive accounts.
Find what brings you joy and follow all accounts related to that!
In the meantime this is your sign to unfollow those people who constantly bring you down. It’s not worth it.
