As I started on my health journey, I never realized just how important our diet is. What we eat affects us more than we know.
I’m so excited for you to find ideas that can work with your busy schedule. I also recommend meal prepping! This will help you follow whatever restrictions you set.
Feeling tired? Could be leaky gut. Bloating after every meal? Leaky gut symptom.
Healing leaky gut was essential in healing my headaches, exhaustion and bloating.
So what is leaky gut? Leaky gut means that the lining of your small intestine because damaged and then allowing toxic chemicals and other food particles to enter your bloodstream.
Here are some tips on healing leaky gut from personal experience and talking to a naturopathic doctor.
Step 1: Avoid sugar, additives, and wheat. As soon as I learned what to cut out, I cut it out for at least 3 months to allow my stomach to heal. You eat these foods for your whole life, a problem can’t be fixed without a detox.
After at least 3 months- reavaluate. How are you feeling? Are you bloated? These are all signs that you need to keep the detox going.
Step 2: Eat healthy! You’ll be surprised about how good you feel when you eat a healthy diet. Lots of veggies, meat, fruit and healthy carbs will make this “diet” or detox faster.
There are so many good recipe ideas on Pinterest without wheat, dairy and sugar. You may think it’s impossible, but I have a dried tomato juice packet that all I add is water… and I prefer it to regular tomato juice now!
Step 3: Add in healthy vitamins. By taking the bad out, you also need to replace it with the good. I recommend taking digestive enzymes to help break down what we eat.
It may seem like a lot and hard to remember, but I like adding mine to a morning shake. That way I don’t taste a thing and I can fit as many healthy things in as possible. Leafy greens…add them!
Step 4: Exercise is so important! Get your body up and moving. That will improve your digestive system and support healing. Up your cardio and this will help carry oxygen throughout your body! Oxygen will help your digestive tract and gut microbes.
Next time you’re sitting on the couch wondering what to do… cardio is the way to go!
Step 5: I know you’ll love this piece of advice, sleep! Make sure you are getting 8 hours of solid sleep a night. That means no interruptions and no waking up. This will allow your body the time it needs to recover from your day and heal.
Step 6: DRINK ENOUGH WATER! Drink the daily recommended amount for your body. Drinking lots of water helps flush the toxins out. You can always add hot lemons to help your digestive tract and good gut bacteria.
Drinking water is the last, but one of the most important steps!
Feel free to hit snooze, your body probably needs it!
By following these steps I’m confident you’ll be feeling in tip-top shape in no time! You’ll be energized, less bloated, and ready for whatever comes your way.
By healing your gut you may also be healing other issues you didn’t know were connected. Eating a clean diet has helped my husbands eczema. Eating healthy had helped my daily headaches.
It’s always worth the try if the rewards are as great as these.
Let me know what you’re going to try down in the comments below!
Stay safe out there!
All my love,
