I hope all of you have been taking this quarantine seriously. If you are anything like me then you understand what it feels like to be bored at times. And there is nothing worse than being trapped inside bored.
Here are some activities you can do to fill up your day! Try a new hobby, this is the perfect time to expand your horizons.
Complete a puzzle. I actually used to hate puzzles. My ADD brain couldn’t handle it and I would instantly get a headache. Then one day my mom bought a 10 thousand-piece puzzle and for months the whole family pieced it together. By the end of it, I had done most of the work. I loved it! It challenged me and got me out of my comfort zone.
Now I don’t hate puzzles and can actually stand to work on one for more than 5 minutes. So if you have never done a puzzle, now is your chance!
Start a journal. I love journaling! Growing up, I probably completed 10 journals. They are my escape from reality. In my journal, I don’t have to hide from anything. I don’t have to be anyone but myself. My thoughts don’t need to be pushed down. I can be me.
Go buy a journal that you love and write away. It can be about anything, the Coronavirus, what you ate for dinner or your mom’s birthday. Whatever happened in your day. I promise you will look back and be so happy at all the memories you get to re-live.
Write poetry. Remember in school when we had to write all kinds of poems? Go back to the easy days and pour your heart out in a poem. Your significant other won’t mind either. It will get your wheels turning and creative juices flowing.
Meditate. You know how you always say “Oh, I would love to meditate, but I never seem to find the time.” Well, now is a perfect time. Hop onto my Instagram where I walk you through a meditation. Meditation is healing and will help in this time of trial.
Meditating doesn’t need to be long, even 5 minutes before bed will help relax you. Listen to your body, take the time needed and you’ll love every moment.
Last but not least…
Look at pictures of puppies. This is my favorite one for sure. Puppies are sure to brighten your day, no matter what. Even look at baby animals. Baby anything will always make me happy.
Our day doesn’t have to be boring, or stressful. It brings me back to my childhood with no phone, no car, and no money haha. It’s a nice wakeup call that life doesn’t have to be so complicated.
Find a reason every day to smile. One thing each day that will make it worth it, a new experience, a new talent or making someone else happy.
Part 2 next week.
All my love,
Talesha
