Winter Date Ideas

We all know how important it is to continually date your spouse. Whether you’ve been married 6 months or ten years. It keeps the flame going and love growing.

In the winter date ideas become harder and harder to make. The cold weather, snow, and freezing temps make you wanna stay inside and watch a movie every date night. Don’t worry though, I’ve listed my favorite winter date night ideas on a budget! I’m sure you’ll love them just as much as we do.

Winter Date-Night Ideas:

  1. Comedy club. This is such a fun date to get out of the house, but still, be warm and laugh the night away. I love this date after a stressful week where I haven’t had much time to unwind. 269 Historic 25th Street Ogden, UT 84401, Ogden, UT 84401 Here is the address for those interested.
  2. Game night. My perfect game night is playing light-hearted, easy to learn games. I don’t like anything too complex or fast-paced. Get your favorite games and sit down on the couch and get your competitive face on.
  3. Blanket fort and movie night. Bring all the chairs, blankets and nightstands to build an epic fort your younger self only dreamed of. Once its made, crawl inside and watch your favorite movie. This definitely puts a twist on a casual movie night you do the rest of the week.
  4. Bob Ross painting night. Head over to Hobby Lobby to pick up two canvases, paint and brushes. Once you’re home, open a youtube video step by step of your favorite Bob Ross painting. Get your creative juices flowing and a memory to keep a lifetime.
  5. Sledding. This is another activity to bring your younger self out. get bundled up for an epic night on the snow. Once you have successfully froze, head home for some homemade hot chocolate.
  6. Indoor picnic. There is nothing I love more than a picnic in the summer. But why does it need to end when summer is over? Lay down your favorite blanket and pillows inside and get comfy. Dinner doesn’t need to be complex or take forever to clean up.
  7. Ice skating. Indoor or outdoor, but I prefer outside because it feels more like a Hallmark movie. This is the perfect date to be close to your significant other without them being overly concerned with PDA. Especially if you suck at ice skating.
  8. Christmas lights. You can either drive around your neighborhood to see how creative everyone becomes, or drive to the salt lake temple lights. Every year we have a tradition to going to the temple lights. I love hearing the singing and seeing beautiful pictures of Christ. We also do this right before Christmas to remember the true meaning.
  9. Gingerbread houses. I remember making gingerbread houses at my grandma’s house as a kid. All the candy, competition and fun looking at everyone else’s made for the best memories. Make sure to take a picture documenting the memory.
  10. USU basketball game. I’m not into sports much, unless it’s in person. The roaring of the crowd gets my blood pumping. All the chanting, cheering and pom-pom waving makes for a perfect night out.

Date night shouldn’t stress you out in the winter. Try new things, get out of the house and make it fun! The cold sucks, but there are so many fun activities to do in the winter. You just have to search a little harder and get out of your comfort zone.
