Apps I Use Everyday On My Phone Pt. 1

As a kid, I never had to worry about technology. My biggest concern was waiting to get a phonecall while my brothers were on the internet. Technology has come a long way since then, for both good and bad.

It can be easy to find yourself overwhelmed by the number of apps you have on your phone. From Pinterest to Facebook and everything in between.

Although I’m a firm believer that you can find the happiness and positivity in any app. I have broken down my favorite apps to use during the day and the purpose of each one.

  1. Pinterest. Pinterest is my go-to for motivation. When I know I need to get my butt to the gym but lack the desire, I open up Pinterest. https://pin.it/m44nl2vgxkzqfx This is my recent favorite workout inspiration that I look at when I lack desire. Pinterest is also amazing for trying out new recipes. Anything you want to follow, follow it. I love following inspiring quotes boards and healthy eating boards too. Anything so that when I open up this app I feel full instead of drained.
  2. Messenger. Receiving and sending texts to those I love helps keep my cup full. I’m sure you love waking up to a text from an old friend as much as I do. There are days when I feel inspired to text someone to let them know I’m thinking of them and love them.
  3. Day One Journal. I love to journal and then several years later go back and reread what my joys and sorrows were to see how far I’ve come. This app allows you to write a journal from the ease of your phone. No need to worry about your hand cramping up, or running out of paper.
  4. Youtube. Again, this is one of those apps that can be bad. There is an endless amount you can search for. However, I love listening to motivational talks in the morning to start my day off right. If I find one I really love I save it to a motivation folder in my account. This one simple thing helps me start my day happy and prepared for whatever the day will bring.
  5. Instagram. I used to open Instagram and be so depressed. Seeing all the perfect women made me emulate them. I started seeing them as superior. A quick way I got over that was by simply unfollowing everything that brought me down. I then followed inspiring people pages to bring my faith in humanity back and inspiring messages. Any and everything I saw that lifted me, I followed.

If you already have these apps and find yourself in the same rut as I was in, I encourage you to do what I did. Delete everything negative and follow everything inspiring. That way when you open it up all you see is the positivity and love flowing.

It’s worth it. It’s hard to get out of that cycle, but I promise you that when you do, you won’t regret it. Next week I’ll dive in deeper to less common apps that I love.

All my love,

Talesha
