- Buy a nice dinner for your parents. Surprise your parents with a nice dinner of their choice and it’ll be a memory you’ll never forget. I remember being a kid and being so excited to get older so I could give back to my awesome parents. When I turned 18 I bought them dinner and it’s still a highlight of my young adult life. From there I’ve been able to have my husband change their oil and brakes in their car and remodel their bathroom. There’s nothing better than giving back to the two most important people.
- Go to a live concert or music festival. I was 20 before I went to my first concert and it was amazing. If you’re anything like me, don’t wait! It’s so fun singing and dancing with a huge crowd of people. Pick your favorite band and enjoy a nice night out.
- Try bunji jumping. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and you’ll never regret it. I promise you’ll be scared the whole time, but you’re only young once!
- Go on that big vacation you’ve always dreamed of! I’ve always dreamed of going to Sweden or Scotland, but now it’s harder with kids. So whatever you’re dreaming, make it a reality!
- Have a deep conversation with someone who has different beliefs. I always love having deep conversations with people who can challenge my own beliefs, and I, there’s.
- Go to an awesome party. Whatever way you like to party, do it and have as much fun as you can. Pretty soon you’ll be 40 and supervising all your kid’s parties.
- Move on from your toxic friend. Not all friendships should last a lifetime. If by reading the first line of this you thought of someone, it’s probably time to let them go.
- Vote in your local community. You control who leads over your community so if you don’t vote you can’t complain when things don’t get fixed how you think they should.
- Dye your hair a fun color. I put pink highlights in my hair a few years ago and I still love it. Be bold and do a fun color! Pink, purple, blue, red, yellow… whatever it may be!
- Learn how to love yourself again. Growing up can be so challenging. You fight with your inner self and self-confidence is low. Learn how to love the imperfect you! You don’t need to be anyone but exactly who you are! Journal, take selfies, get dressed up, and love yourself!
- Volunteer in your community! Not only will you make a difference, but you’ll feel good after! Pick any organization and put your heart into it. I love volunteering for my local humane society and loving on all the dogs. I may leave wanting them all, but I feel good after.
- Learn to forgive. When I tell you I can hold a grudge, I can hold a grudge. It’s truly exhausting holding onto negative feelings for yearsssss. Move on from it and feel the weight lifted off your shoulders.
- Try a new recipe. Cooking is not my forte as I’m not the best at it. Too frequently my food gets burned and dinner becomes a lot more simple. I recently have been exploring new recipes and I have so much fun with it. Go on Pinterest, find something different, and give it a go!
- Go on a blind date. If you’ve never gone on a blind date, do it now! The anticipation is so fun and it’s nice meeting someone you didn’t pick. Make sure it’s in a group setting though for safety reasons.
- Get at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. Even if that 30 minutes is going on a walk or bike ride, exercise is very important. I love going on a bike ride with my whole family, dog included. It’s a great way to relax and enjoy my beautiful town.
- Camp under the moon and stars. Relaxation never felt as good as when you’re away from the hustle and bustle of town. Enjoy waking up to the sound of birds and roasting marshmallows on the fire.
- Learn how to say no. In life, it’s hard feeling like you have to say yes to everything asked of you. Not only is that farther from the truth, but you have just as much of a voice as those around you. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.
- Learn how to be alone. It’s very valuable to learn how to be alone. You won’t always have people around you. It’s okay to be just you!
- Buy that expensive piece of clothing you’ve always wanted! Yes, it may be wayyyy overpriced, but you are only young once! It won’t be long till you have to ask permission of your spouse to buy it, so buy it now!
- Try something new in the food department. Do you know how people eat alligator or octopus? If you’re picky like me, you’ll never forget trying more exotic food. It’s worth the fun memory in return!
Have you tried any of these ideas? You are truly only young once, so get out and enjoy as much life as you possibly can!
All my love,
Talesha
